Pune: Symbiosis Law School, a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), has announced Symbhav 2021, the 13th edition of student-driven cultural extravaganza, that aims to bring together students from different disciplines across the country and abroad to provide a platform for mutual learning and growth.

Owing to the Covid -19 pandemic, the annual inter-collegiate cultural, legal and sports festival Symbhav 2021 will take place virtually on 28th, 29th and 30th of April, 2021. This year’s virtual edition has created new opportunities to connect with students from across the globe.

Symbhav 2021 intends to transcend physical boundaries and unite a wide range of talents across the globe. Keeping its dedication to address contemporary issues as well as being the torch bearer of a better future, the theme of Symbhav 2021- “Paradigms of Progress”, will celebrate the the rise of new beginnings and unwavering resilience of humankind.

The theme unfolds richer innovations in science and technology, growing awareness and discourse about environmental issues, and the success of social movements around the globe, which have given voice to the once oppressed and minority communities.

The innagural ceremony of SYMBHAV, 2021 will commence on 25th April 2020 10:00 am – 11:00 am with the presence of Mr. Suresh Prabhu, as the Chief Guest.

Symbhav 2021 brings forth over forty events including the 4th edition of SLS-P Conclave’ 21 to provide a platform for expounding new ideas, deliberating upon new themes, and delving into the creative minds of India’s youth through Online International Legal Panel Discussion with eminent legal personalities.

The event shall be held on 25th April 2021 (Sunday) from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Conclave 2021 aims at building all-around knowledge and hone various analytical and intellectual skills of the students and carry forward the legacy of being a trailblazer of contemporary topics, through its theme, “Global Trade Practices in the Era of Digitalization.”

Conclave 2021 will be graced by Justice Perody Vishwanatha Shetty, Lokayukta of State of Karnataka Distinguished as Guest of Honour and Justice Annabelle Bennett, Former Justice of the Federal Court of Australia as the Distinguished Guest.

The event will also be marked by presence of Mr. Mukul Rohatgi, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, Mr. Parag Tripathi, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, Dr. Prezmyslaw Tacik, Assistant Professor, Jagiellonian University, Poland, Mr. Pavan Duggal, Chairman, International Commission on Cyber Security Law, Mr. Arun Prabhu, Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Ms. Gowree Gokhale, Head, TMT Practice and Partner, Nishith Desai Associates, Mr. Supratim Chakraborty, Partner, Khaitan & Co, as resource persons.

Symbiosis Law School Smbhav 2021: 25 events across 3 days

Day 1 of Symbhav 2021 will witness one of the major event scheduled for 28th April 2021 the Symbiosis Law School Pune Model United Nations (SLSPMUN). It is one of the largest college-level MUNs in Pune.

Every year, SLSPMUN provides a platform for discussion and debate on topics of international importance. In fact, with the 10th edition of SLSPMUN being virtual, the conference this year will consist of delegates from all over the world too!

With 7 committees set to discuss the most pressing issues of global relevance, SLSPMUN 2021, albeit online, is set to facilitate debate, diplomacy and discussion for the leaders of tomorrow.

The other major event for the day includes Global Students’ Conclave, Ibdita Film Fest – Screening, Nitin Patil Mono Advocacy, General Quiz, Charades, Sports Quiz, Solo/Duet Dance, Sports Feud, Stand-Up Comedy, Western Singing, Eastern Singing and Creative Writing.

The major attraction for Day 2, 29th April 2021 include Symbhav’s flagship events- Mr. and Ms. Symbhav, Ablaze and Group Dance.

Performing arts events include street play, western and Eastern solo singing and mono acting. Under the umbrella of creative events, the college is set to host a short film making competition as well as a face painting competition among others. There is also a wide array of quiz events that will take place, ranging from a sports and entertainment quiz to TechBiz Quiz.

The literary events include slam poetry and word games. In addition to these, the immensely popular fashion show, ‘Ablaze’, will see students take the stage, with their clothing, make-up and creative sets. The legal events include mono advocacy and a judgement writing competition. The online treasure hunt will give participants a virtual treasure hunt experience unlike anything they’ve experienced before. The virtual mode has not put a damper on the sporting events. Keeping up with these challenging times, the fest is set to offer a host of virtual sporting events including chess, sports themed essay writing competition, virtual fitness challenges, sports debate, virtual IPL auction and even a virtual marathon.

The Pronite event on 29th April 2021, which in the past years, attracted some of the best musicians and stand-up comedians in the country, will continue to be a highlight this year with comedian, Rahul Dua as the guest for the event.

Day 3 of Symbhav 2021 would witness this year’s edition of law theatre ‘Dar-ba-dar’ that focusses on the travails of migrant workers under the devastating influence of the Covid-19 pandemic directed by Mr. Sachin Malvi and will be performed virtually by students from all over the country. The other major everts for the day includes Ibdita Film Fest –Screening, SLSPMUN Closing Ceremony, Mono Acting, Street Play, Speaking Tree, Lip Sync Battle, Basketball Skills Challenge, Slam Poetry, Treasure Hunt, Yoga, Sports Debate, Virtual Fitness Challenge and Symbhav 2021 Closing Ceremony.
