Pune: For the first time since April 2020 when the month on month recovery started, the production levels especially of micro and small firms have fallen by about 2 per cent, says the twelfth survey conducted by the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA).
Over 100 organisations from Pune district participated in this MCCIA survey.
Current level of Production:
On an average, the surveyed companies said that their current level of production has decreased to 83 per cent in March from 85 per cent in February.
On an average, the surveyed companies said that the number of employees working has stayed at 86 per cent in March.
The surveyed companies were also asked about when their production levels were expected to be the same as they were in January 2020. 48 per cent of the companies said their production was already at pre-COVID levels.
19 per cent of the respondents said that they expect their production levels to go back to the pre-Covid levels in less than 3 months. 16 per cent of the respondents said they expect it to take between 3 to 6 months and 17 per cent said it would take more than 6 months.
Profile of respondents:
67 per cent of the organisations surveyed were from the manufacturing sector, 14 per cent from the services sector and the rest were involved in both manufacturing and services.
